We arrived in Dublin after a smooth and easy flight on Aer Lingus. Long gone are the days when we had to book multiple books, snacks and activities for travel. Now all the kids needs are a pair of ear phones and a screen and they are captivated for hours. Everyone tried to sleep on the flight, but arms and legs have grown longer since Australia and it wasn't easy getting comfortable. We arrived at the Westin Dublin at 5 am and it came as no surprise that our rooms weren't ready. So we left our bags and went to find the lounge area that mercifully had comfortable couches. We all feel asleep except for Luke, who was unexplainably bouncing off the walls and couldn't settle down. When we finally woke up, I couldn't find him. I was on the verge of alerting hotel security, when Rick decided to look down under the tables and found Luke curled up in a very dark corner with a pillow and long-sleeve shirt pulled over his legs - fast asleep. There were business meetings going on all around him and no one had any idea there was a 8 year old American boy sleeping right under their noses!
After a little more sleep, showers and some pub food, we were refreshed and headed outside. We hit the Dublin highlights ... Trinity College, Book of Kells, St. Stephens Green, Iveagh Gardens and even caught a bit of a cricket match at the college. This morning we woke up to rain and cool temps, but it's understood that's what to be expected here. More fun!
OK - time to pack up and head out.
